What VPAT Vault does

VPAT Vault is a nine-prompt documentation toolkit that runs inside your existing Codex or Claude Code project. It organizes accessibility evidence into structured, reviewable VPAT rows and assembles a final report JSON, rendered to fixed, escaped HTML by a deterministic renderer. A separate free Chrome extension runs axe-core locally and exports scan JSON in a format the toolkit accepts.

Using the prompt toolkit

After purchase, follow the included start guide: install the toolkit's project instructions into your Codex or Claude Code project, run the prompts in sequence against your evidence, and review each output before it becomes part of your VPAT. The validator and report schema check structure, not factual accuracy: every row still needs human review against your evidence and current ITI guidance.

How the extension workflow will operate

The extension scans the active browser tab, runs axe-core locally, and lets you export a scan JSON file on demand. You feed that file into the prompt toolkit as evidence. The extension does not upload anything, does not require an account, and does not assign conformance ratings on its own.

Browser-extension limitations

• Scans only the currently active tab, not a full site crawl.
• Automated scans surface violations and incomplete results; they cannot themselves establish a "Supports" rating.
• Restricted browser pages and injection failures may prevent a scan from running.

Manual-testing requirements

Automated results are a starting point, not a conclusion. Keyboard navigation, screen-reader behavior, focus order, and other criteria that automated tools cannot reliably evaluate require manual testing and human judgment before any row is marked as reviewed.

Troubleshooting

• Prompt output does not match the expected contract. Re-run the prompt with its full output contract attached; do not use the prompt text alone.
• Validator reports a structural error. Check the report JSON against the bundled schema before re-assembling the report.
• Extension scan produces no results. Confirm the tab is not a restricted browser page and reload the tab before scanning again.
